I'm not sure, if I understand your question correctly. The edit mode (I assume you talk about "Edit Top 200 Rows") was created exactly for this purpose and is a standard feature of SSMS. a user can do this even with MS Access or similar tools. If you want to prevent the user from you have to use different login for your application than windows user. So you can restirct users to the role "db_reader". Better idea in my humble opinion would be to threat the user with drastic sanctions, if they disobey ![]() Regards Jimmy |
