I often use multi-server queries in SSMS (through Registered server groups). I also often use ssmsboost feature "Locate object in Object Explorer". But when I use Locate in a multiserver query, I get the searching popup, and it just keeps spinning. Makes sense, ssmsboost must not know what to do with the muliple servers in the query. So: I think it would be better if it popped up a message saying "Multiserver locate not supported" or somesuch, instead of it looking like its searching. Even better would be an option to locate the item in each server (although I see that would hard), or to ask which server locate should happen on. Or to simply locate on the random "first" server. Lots of options.
I LOVE ssmsboost, just bought Pro liscence after the community liscence has been saving my butt for several years. Keep up the good work! |
