Tripling the customer base? That's not how things work mathematically. You probably mean new customers. But still. If 10 people are not willing to pay $150 then the developer earns nothing. If only 1 out of 10 decides to buy it for $50 than that's a increase. If all 10 buy the program than that's $500. A lot more than $0.
