Well, the nature of the SSMS requires admin rights to install the add-in. Our installation is digitally signed with code signing certificate. This allows domain admins to add the exception and to allow users to self-install all MSI files, signed with this certificate. In mid-size companies this works and admins do such exceptions. Check please with your IT. We also have several users, that got approved some particular version and they keep using it for years without being able to self-install the updates. |
